British music legend Elton John (76) made his last tour last year. However, he is not completely finished, as he himself has stated. But finished with some of his possessions, he seems to be. For now, everything from expensive cars and watches to extravagant costumes, pianos and art will be sold through a giant auction in the United States.

See some of the things that are sold in the image carousel further down in the case.

Sir Elton John is a global superstar who has forever defined the music landscape and popular culture.

Although it is the most affordable variant of the Range Rover Sport you may end up with after reading on, there is very little to suggest that this comes across as cheap. It starts at just under NOK 1.6 million, but you probably have to count on shelling out NOK 1.8 million when the equipment is loaded.

It may seem stiff for a rechargeable SUV, but if you look in the price list it appears that the same car with the V8 engine of 4.4 liters and 530 horsepower costs from NOK 2.5 million.

A kind of favorite among some in the Norwegian financial elite was the previous edition of the Range Rover Sport SVR, and here, happily, there is a new edition available for the more eccentric. This is currently called the SV P635 and costs a staggering NOK 3.5 million with the option of carbon fiber rims.

- The sale is estimated to reach an amount in the order of ten million dollars, says Christie's representative Alexandra Kindermann in an email to Kapital.

The international auction house - which in 2023 sold art and other luxury goods for 6.2 billion dollars - has secured the opportunity to carry out the gigantic sale.

This is not the first time the artist has put large amounts of his possessions up for auction (but the first time in 21 years) after emptying one of his properties. Something similar happened through Sotheby's in 1988. Nor is it the first time Christie's has sold something from John, when in 2001 they sold 20 of his cars.

But back to the sale, which will now take place in February: There is so much hype that it has all been divided into eight sub-auctions, an event spanning 19 days. Some auctions live in New York, as well as many online.
